Abdominoplasty

With substantial weight loss achieved prior to hernia repair, many patients have excess skin that not only impairs function but is unsightly and difficult to live with. 

Dr Wong believes in concurrent abdominoplasty at the time of major hernia repair to improve functional status but also reduces the devitalised and unhealthy tissues that can increase wound infection risk.  As a bonus, the end result is more cosmetically pleasing, and quality of life improved.
